Career & Educational Events and Announcements

Bishop Museum
The Bishop Museum holds extensive collections from Hawaii and the Pacific in nine areas: Archaeology, Botany, Entomology, Ethnology, Ichthyology, Invertebrate Zoology, Library & Archives, Malacology, and Vertebrate Zoology. Our hope is to provide incoming interns with a broad exposure to these collections, their care, and their use in research and beyond. With this internship, we’ll also highlight a range of occupations and career paths possible in the museum field, and equip students with skills to confidently utilize and interpret the rich scientific and cultural collections for which we are all stewards.

As we finalize the application process, I highly encourage any interested students to prepare their references and personal statements.

The high school student internship will include two parts:

1)      Summer 2019 – full time commitment to internship work at the museum during June/July 2019

2)      SY 2019-2020 – monthly commitment to internship hours (preferably weekend shifts) throughout the school year

While our web page and application form for the internship are being finalized, I do have an Google form link to share: https://goo.gl/forms/5DXJtyeGrwj7N6Mg2. Interested individuals can add their name if desired to be updated as more information is available.
